Nood Co x @our_emerald_home

A little while ago the talented Carly Jade from @our_emerald_home has given her master ensuite a fresh look. She chose our Vesl Basin Square in ivory for her project. Learn more about this space as we had the chance to have a chat with her about her design choices and how they work together.

We love this space and so does instagram. Can you tell us about the mood you were trying to achieve with this space?

We were updating a tiny 1970s separate toilet and bathroom- the layout prior to the renovation was so poorly planned there wasn’t even a power point and the entry door hit the shower when it opened. We knew the mood we wanted to bring to our new space was something that was vast and airy, that felt like there was room to breath between elements, not everything crammed in on top of each other. We also wanted to ensure our selections were timeless something we wouldn’t tire of.

Tell us about the colours, patterns and material choice for this space and how they work together?

Knowing we wanted the space to feel spacious, calming and timeless, we chose from a natural pallete of warm greys, whites and some beautiful organic hand made subways with a brown fleck through them. The blackbutt custom timber vanity was very much designed to be the hero of the space, the first thing you see as you enter and centred between to beautiful louvred windows. All of them work together to achieve the mood we were hoping to achieve.

Tell us about your Nood selection? Why did you select that design and colour?

The ivory vessl (sorry if I’ve spelt incorrect) basin was selected because of its size and the curved endges. Design wise it referenced the curves in our bath and the size helped us achieve that feeling of vastness we wanted. It’s scale made the vanity feel even larger and being centered it actually reminds me of a crown on top. The colour was a simple choice it worked well within our palette and also helped achieve that timeless deign we wanted in the space. It’s finish is like nothing else, especially once it was waxed, it looks and feels like silk.
