A look inside interior designer Victoria Bibbys personal bathroom

We were lucky enough to have a chat with the talented Victoria Bibby from @bibbyandbrady about her own beautiful bathroom space.

Bibby and Brady (Instagram: @bibbyandbrady) are a designer duo based in Napier, New Zealand. They aim to create spaces that have style and longevity; that are welcoming and make you want to stay a while. They are committed to creating incredible interior spaces, and it is their philosophy to “buy it once and buy it right"

We were lucky enough to have a chat with Victoria Bibby about her own beautiful bathroom space as featured in Your Home and Garden New Zealand featuring our pill basin in blush pink.

We love this space and so does instagram. Can you tell us about the mood you were trying to achieve with this space?

People often treat bathrooms as utilitarian spaces, but I wanted our en-suite to have just as much life and personality as my living room or bedroom. I start and end every day in this bathroom, and it always makes me happy.

Tell us about the colours, patterns and material choices for this space and how they work together?

We had used the blue hexagonal tiles in a client’s bathroom and I have always loved them. Each tile has a slightly different texture and the light from the skylight above bounces off them creating amazing texture. The brass fixtures contrast the blue beautifully, and I chose an aged brass so the patina will continue to get more lovely every day. The room is divided into three and I wanted to zone each area, but they all had to complement each other and work together. On the far side the toilet is tucked behind a nib wall and this area is wallpapered in a gorgeous pattern that picks up the navy of the tiles. The vanity is sandwiched between the two and I wanted this to be in lighter, softer tones. The bench top is a soft grey Caesarstone and the splash back is a white Carrara marble tile that is also used as a shelf in the shower.

Tell us about your Nood selection? Why did you select that design and colour?

Our Nood basin was one of my earliest choices. I like to introduce curves into our designs to soften all the straight lines that are inevitably part of a room. The Pill Basin has such elegant, fine lines and is such a great centrepiece - the “hero” of the vanity. The blush pink colour adds warmth to the cooler palette of blue and white.
