After 8 incredible years, Nood Co says farewell to our Co-Founder Matt Di Costa. Over the last year, with the support of our team Matt made the decision to begin stepping away from his role at Nood Co. Taking over the brand direction is our talented Creative Director, Anastasia (Stasia) Ignatova. Our exceptional Commercial Manager, Jessica Burke, will continue to be the point of contact for our reseller network and trade partners.
On behalf of our team we want to thank Matt for his creative direction, sense of play and love for the brand over the years - we will miss you! We’ve compiled our brightest moments below.
The very first basin
Over eight years ago, having run their rendering business successfully, Matt and Chris had the idea to create a concrete sink. After experimenting with different designs and formulations in Matt’s sister's garage they managed to create their very first basin.
Furniture by Nood
From that moment, they set up shop and released a full range of concrete designer basins, homewares and furniture. Their ability to inject colour, utilise curves and the thin nature of their products was the Nood point of difference. The now discontinued Iva Side Table won the Melbourne Fringe Award for Most Innovative Product 2018.
Award Winning Basins
The brand took a pivot about 5-years ago when it began focusing exclusively on concrete basins. With the 1950s inspired Herbert being a finalist in the 2020 US Gray Design Awards.
Launching Globally
Chris and Matt took the brand all over the world, including the United States and Europe where they displayed Nood Co at Maison & Objet and ICFF New York. To this day, we have completed countless commercial and residential projects overseas.
Butterfly Stand at Defair
Our team was so proud to win the best stand award for the Sydney Design Show 2022. Reflecting the ethereal nature of Nood Co, and our most recent Conscious colour launch, the stand was meant to reflect a sense of whimsical 'play'.
